The Metasciences - Four-Color Love Story
We didn’t even kiss until issue 26
and this world still feels like 1963
I love this life. I love this universe
and you’ll keep my identity a secret
and you will know the touch beneath my glove
and I may go out every night and risk my life for strangers
but you’re the only girl I’ll ever love
and Gwen Stacy isn’t dead, she’s only sleeping
and Elektra isn’t evil or insane
and those bastards in the pentagon can’t really kill Sue Dibney
no more than they could kill off Lois Lane
and I swear to god there’ll be hell to pay
if anybody tries to take you away
forget this life
forget this universe
you’re everything I need
you are my life
you are my universe
and they’ll have to go through me
“I still can’t believe it… you know, that they’re actually… here. I’ll never forget the… the day I saw that first German tank rolling up Flatbush. All the people streaming across the Brooklyn Bridge, trying to get out of Manhattan. The President on the radio, vowing to persevere, right before the government evacuated Washington.”
- Alicia Travers, relating her memories of the German invasion to Archer
Golden Brooks as Alicia Travers in Star Trek: Enterprise episodes 4.01 & 4.02, Storm Front parts 1&2
ENTERPRISE wasnt a perfect show, but that two-parter and Golden’s character was a standout for me.
“he was a highly educated young black man wandering with no plans with an 18” johnson.”
[Image: Gifs of Cinderella and Prince Christopher talking on a crowded street and of the two of them smiling at each other.]
Cinderella: I’m not sure I want to meet this stranger. I doubt if he has any idea how a girl should be treated.
Christopher: Like a princess, I suppose.
Cinderella: No! Like a person with kindness and respect. My most favorite version of Cinderella. Can we talk about how BOTH main characters are people of color. Prince Charming is Asian and the most captivating person in the village is an african American woman who believes in kindness and respect? Let’s talk about it. Let’s have a full conversation about it.
let’s talk about how i need to rewatch it and write a feminist analysis on it just for funsies.
